“HALF THE WORLD LACKS ACCESS TO ESSENTIAL HEALTH SERVICES, 100 MILLION STILL PUSHED INTO EXTREME POVERTY BECAUSE OF HEALTH EXPENSES.” – World Health Organisation
Health is a fundamental aspect of human well-being and development. At The Khan Foundation, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities around the world by investing in healthcare infrastructure and services, improving access to lifesaving medicines, promoting knowledge and awareness and investing in preventative measures. Our objective is to find ways to ensure that vulnerable populations have a say in how strategies are developed, implemented, and accounted for in ways that demonstrate improvements in medical care access by the poor.
“ESTIMATES BY THE GEM REPORT AND UIS SHOW THAT 244 MILLION CHILDREN AND YOUTH BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 AND 18 WORLWIDE WERE STILL MISSING OUT ON SCHOOL IN 2021.”
– UNESCO
Every child deserves an education. UNESCO data for 2019 stated that almost 58 million children of primary age did not have a chance to attend school. During the pandemic, this number has only increased. One major barrier to education is poverty. At The Khan Foundation, we partner with established charities on the ground to build schools and infrastructure, provide free meals and educational resources in schools. We strive to offer teacher training programs and work closely with local communities to raise awareness about the importance of education. Breaking the poverty cycle through education is our key focus.
The Khan Foundation’s key objective is to build businesses in underdeveloped communities that employ and self-sustain the community. Our objective is to empower the community members to take control of their own lives and become active contributors to their community’s development. This is important as it promotes economic development and empowerment, sustainable development and skill development and capacity building. It also promotes social impact, empowerment, and long-term lasting change in the community. The key focus of the foundation is to help the community to break the cycle of poverty and create a positive cycle of development where economic growth leads to improved social well-being.
At The Khan Foundation, we recognise that volunteers play a crucial role in any charity project. A vital addition to our human resource team, volunteers also bring diverse skills and perspectives on the table and help engage the community, thus increasing the impact and reach of our charitable programs. At The Khan Foundation, we warmly welcome all volunteers, and we want our volunteers to know that their dedication and commitment are essential for the success and sustainability of our organisation. We value our volunteers; we appreciate them, and we are always grateful for their support.
Our donors also play a vital role in the success of our projects as they provide the necessary financial support, enable program expansion and innovation, contribute to advocacy and awareness of social issues, and provide recognition and validation of the work that we do on the ground. We want our donors to know that as our donors, their contributions are essential for the success and sustainability of The Khan Foundation. We value our donors; we appreciate them, and we are always grateful for all donor support.
