Land for Schools Project

Welcome to The Khan Foundation’s latest initiative: Land for Schools Project. The Khan Foundation (TKF) is deeply committed to advancing the welfare of underprivileged communities, particularly in the realm of education in the poverty-stricken regions of Northern Bangladesh.

In the pursuit of supporting quality education and social development opportunities for underprivileged children and communities, TKF has identified a pressing need in the poverty-stricken district of Dinajpur, Northern Bangladesh. As a result, TKF has partnered with the local and esteemed JAAGO Foundation which serves 4,500 underprivileged students through their network of 11 schools, located in the various regions of Bangladesh.

One of the significant challenges the JAAGO Foundation Schools face is securing suitable land for schools. In Bangladesh, owning land is crucial for sustaining quality education, especially for facilitating enrolment in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations conducted by the Educational Board Bangladesh.

The recent visit by TKF board members to Northern Bangladesh highlighted the urgency of securing land for JAAGO Foundation schools, particularly in Dinajpur and other locations across Bangladesh. Recognizing this need, TKF has launched the “Land for Schools” project in Dinajpur, in collaboration with JAAGO Foundation and similar initiatives across other school locations.

The Khan Foundation’s goal is twofold: to address the immediate impediments in Dinajpur and to empower underprivileged students by enabling them to sit for SSC examinations from JAAGO Schools. This milestone is crucial in their academic journey and holds the promise of a brighter future.

To address the above impediments, The Khan Foundation (TKF) has successfully secured a 2,023 square meter area of land in Dinajpur, Northern Bangladesh, through their “Land for Schools” project, in collaboration with JAAGO Foundation. This significant achievement marks a crucial milestone in our mission to advance education and social development in underprivileged communities.

With this newly acquired land, TKF ensures the continuous education of 360 students annually at the JAAGO Foundation school in Dinajpur. Additionally, this initiative secures the sustainable livelihood of 22 teaching and non-teaching staff members from the local community, further enhancing the socio-economic fabric of this highly impoverished region.

The Khan Foundation is deeply grateful to JAAGO Foundation for the support and collaboration that made this achievement possible. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of underprivileged children and communities, empowering them to realize their educational aspirations and build a brighter future.

This success in Dinajpur is just the beginning. The Khan Foundation remains committed to expanding our efforts across Bangladesh, ensuring that every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to thrive. Thank you to all our well-wishers for being a part of this journey towards positive change.

Join us in our mission to make quality education accessible to all, as we work towards building a better tomorrow for the children of Bangladesh. Together, we can make a difference.
